'The Secret Garden' Released in UK Cinemas and with Sky Cinema

“The Secret Garden is a delight: endlessly enchanting, full of lovely visual curlicues and brimming with the outsized emotions of childhood.” ★★★★ Time Out

Following it’s US release in August, Marc Munden’s ‘The Secret Garden’, with original music by Dario Marianelli, is released in the UK today, 23rd October, both in cinemas and on Sky Cinema.

Score Supervisor: Maggie Rodford
Music Editor: Mark Willsher

“Starring Colin Firth, Julie Walters and Dixie Egerickx, ‘The Secret Garden’ is a new take on the beloved classic novel of the same name written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Set in England during a new time period in 1947, the film follows a young orphan girl who, after being sent to live with her uncle, discovers a magical garden on the grounds of his estate. Marc Munden is directing the script, which was adapted for the screen by Jack Thorne.”

The original soundtrack is available now through Universal Music.

“Marianelli’s score is rich and thick with beautiful orchestrations, and warm and welcoming themes, a celebration of gentle and idyllic nature…. it offers a beautiful, enchanting portrait of child-like innocence and pastoral elegance. Like the secret garden itself, it is easy to get lost in this sylvan musical paradise, a haven away from the horrors of the real world.” – Jonathan Broxton, Movie Music UK
