Robin is a diverse and highly skilled film music editor with a background in classical and pop music, audio engineering, record production and mixing.
His latest music editing project is Wes Anderson’s forthcoming feature ‘The French Dispatch’, due to be released in 2021. He has music edited, score edited or provided additional music editing for a wide variety of film and TV projects, including Reed Morano’s ‘The Rhythm Section’ (2020), Danny Boyle’s ‘Trust’ (2018), Wes Anderson’s ‘Isle Of Dogs’ (2018), Disney’s ‘Beauty & The Beast’ (2017) and Steven Price’s Oscar-winning score for ‘Gravity’ (2013).
Robin takes great pride in both the musicality and the technical skill that he brings to his work. Studying classical music from an early age, he received a First Class Honours in music and sound recording from the University of Surrey Tonmeister course. After graduating, he worked at Abbey Road studios (during which time he assisted on scoring sessions for Harry Gregson-Williams, James Newton Howard, James Horner, Howard Shore and Alexander Desplat) and subsequently Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. Since going freelance in 2010, he has worked on a wide variety of music and film projects. Alongside his film work, he has engineered albums for Coldplay, Florence & The Machine, and Kings of Leon, and many others. In 2013 he received a Grammy Award for engineering the Album of the Year, Mumford & Sons’ ‘Babel’.
Notable projects this year include score editing for Will Sharpe’s forthcoming ‘Louis Wain’, co-producing & mixing Travis’ new album ‘10 Songs’, and engineering for Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘Evermore’. He recently co-produced the music for ‘Empty Stage’, a short-film collaboration between the singer-songwriter Benjamin Scheuer and the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
