Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor is a record and mix engineer whose extensive credits span film, television, video games, and contemporary music. With equal expertise recording full orchestras, to bands, soloists, and intimate jazz trios, Nick brings technical precision and artistic sensitivity to every project.

Recent work includes record and mix engineering for Sky’s ‘Amadeus’ and ‘Atomic’, BBC series ‘Ludwig’ and ‘Unforgivable’, ‘Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write About a Serial Killer’, and Left Bank Pictures’ Netflix series ‘Everything Now’. His recent credits also include score record engineering on Disney’s ‘Rivals’ (Series 1 & 2), the percussion and metal sessions for ‘KPop Demon Hunters’, the score ‘Fing!’, ‘The Forsytes’ (Series 1 & 2) with composer Anne Dudley, and ‘The Lady’ with composer Chris Roe. Other recent highlights include the Leonardo DiCaprio–produced animated feature ‘Ozi: Voice of the Forest’ and the BAFTA- and RTS-winning anthology series ‘I Am…’. He was also the string recording engineer on Charli XCX’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ companion album.

Further film and television credits include Netflix feature documentary ‘Gorillas Story: Told by David Attenborough’, ITV series ‘Out There’, feature film ‘Scrapper’, Netflix documentaries ‘The Lost Children’ and ‘Convergence: Courage in a Crisis’, and the Academy Award-nominated documentary ‘Virunga’, all in collaboration with composer Patrick Jonsson, where Nick worked as record and mix engineer. His work with Amelia Warner includes ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ (nominated for Hollywood Music in Media, ASCAP, World Soundtrack, and IFMCA Awards), ‘Mary Shelley’ (World Soundtrack Award nomination), and score record engineering on ‘The Young Woman and the Sea’ (Disney+ / Jerry Bruckheimer, starring Daisy Ridley).

He has also recorded and mixed Gary Yershon’s Oscar-nominated scores for Mike Leigh’s ‘Mr. Turner’ and later film ‘Hard Truths’, as well as Patrick Doyle’s scores for Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ and ‘Death on the Nile’. Additional credits include Stanley Tucci’s Final Portrait, Mike Newell’s ‘The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society’, Yeong Wook Jo’s BAFTA-nominated score for ‘The Little Drummer Girl’, and collaborations with Andy Burrows for ‘After Life’ and the score and songs for ‘David Brent: Life on the Road’ starring Ricky Gervais.

In contemporary music, Nick has engineered for artists including Graham Coxon, The Script, and Emeli Sandé, and recorded much of her UK number one album ‘Our Version of Events’. He has recorded strings for Jessie Ware’s album ‘Superbloom’ and for Olivia Dean’s debut album ‘Messy’. He frequently collaborates with arranger Rosie Danvers (Wired Strings), recording string arrangements for artists such as Olivia Dean (Grammy Award winner and four-time BRIT Award winner, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Act at the 2026 BRIT Awards), Brad Kella, Little Simz, Adele, Kanye West, Mark Ronson, Madonna, Stormzy, Dave, Sam Fender, Michael Kiwanuka, Paloma Faith, Bastille, and Tom Grennan.

Specialised sessions include recordings with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Roger Taylor (Queen) at the legendary Headley Grange for Spitfire Audio.

Nick regularly works at leading London recording facilities including Air Lyndhurst, Air-Edel Studios, Abbey Road, RAK, and British Grove.
