2021 World Soundtrack Awards Conducted by Dirk Brossé

The 2021 World Soundtrack Awards will take place in Opera Ghent on 23rd October.

Dirk Brossé will be conducting the Brussels Philharmonic, performing at both the thematic concert and the World Soundtrack Awards.

Film Fest Ghent announced composer Max Richter as one of the guests of this year’s World Soundtrack Awards and has honoured  Greek composer Eleni Karaindrou with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“I am truly delighted to be invited to the 21st World Soundtrack Awards concert in Ghent as guest of honour. It will be exciting to showcase my works for film and television in particular in the context of Film Fest Ghent, which has played such a significant role in the appreciation of film music over the years. I look forward very much to working with the Brussels Philharmonic and Dirk Brossé on a special WSA concert programme.” – Max Richter

“I am deeply honoured by the decision of the World Soundtrack Academy to award me the most significant prize for a composer of film music, the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award. With enormous pleasure and gratitude, I accept this great honour. I would like to express my thanks to the Academy and share this award with all directors I worked with. But especially Theo Angelopoulos with whom I worked on eight films. I also want to thank my producer and director of ECM Records, Manfred Eicher, for our joint creative journey of more than thirty years now.” – Eleni Karaindrou
