Zero VU

Zero VU is the moniker for brothers Nick & Mitch Taylor, a scoring and songwriting duo, who fuse contemporary leftfield writing with a passion for organic analogue technology. Most recently they completed co-composing the original score for the action-comedy film ‘Old Guy, directed by Simon West, and starring Christoph Waltz and Lucy Liu.

Zero VU composed the original score for the HBO Europe comedy-drama series ‘Tuff Money’, produced by Mobra Films. Other recent credits include composing the original score and songs for the Ben Bond’s debut feature film ‘The Drifters, and UKTV Gold television series ‘The Cockfields written by David Earl and Joe Wilkinson for Yellow Door Productions. They composed for the BAFTA-nominated BBC documentary, ‘Pantomime in Port Talbot: Balls of Steel’, and the trailer music for the international feature ‘The Pass produced by Duncan Kenworthy. Their score for indie short ‘Risk’, directed by Luke Bradford, was nominated for Best Music at the Idyllwild Festival in California.

Both collectively and individually, Zero VU has an extensive list of credits. As a record and mix engineer, Nick Taylor has worked on over 150 film and television scores and many albums across various genres. His recent work includes Amelia Warner’s score for the Disney+ and Jerry Bruckheimer collaboration; ‘The Young Woman and the Sea, BBC hit comedy-thriller ‘Ludwig’ starring David Mitchell, BAFTA and RTS-winning series ‘I am…’, and Left Bank Pictures comedy-drama series ‘Everything Now on Netflix.  Other credits Ridley Scott’s ‘Gladiator II and ‘Napoleon, the Leonardo DiCaprio produced animation ‘Ozi: Voice on the Forest’,Kathleen Is Here by
Eva Birthistle, Gary Yershon’s Oscar-nominated score for Mike Leigh’s ‘Mr Turner’ and latter features ‘Peterlooand ‘Hard Truths, Kenneth Branagh’s ‘Death on the Nile and ‘Murder on the Orient Expresswith Patrick Doyle, and the Oscar-nominated documentary ‘Virungawith Patrick Jonsson.

On the Rock and Pop front Nick has worked with many artists including Graham Coxon, The Script, and Emeli Sandé, for whom he recorded much of the number 1 album ‘Our Version of Events’. He regularly works closely with various arrangers, including Rosie Danvers (Wired Strings) with whom he has recorded string arrangements for many contemporary artists including Kanye West, Mark Ronson, Adele, Madonna, Raleigh Ritchie, Paloma Faith, Leona Lewis, Birdy, Pink, Fun, Tinie Tempah, Dave, Sam Fender, Madness, Stormzy, Michael Kiwanuka, Sigma, 5 Seconds of Summer, Bastille, Tom Grennan, and Professor Green, among many others.
