Carter Armstrong joins Air-Edel
Air-Edel, the full-service music agency and services company founded in 1970 by George Martin and Herman Edel, have appointed veteran industry executive Carter Armstrong as the EVP/GM of their Los Angeles based office, Air-Edel LLC, working across the worldwide Air-Edel roster. Alongside him is Composer Agent Becca Tomasko, who has been with Air-Edel since 2016.
Carter joins Air-Edel after running his own agency Strong Music for three years and joining him in the move are his Strong Music clients – Erran Baron Cohen, Bryce Jacobs, Wayne Sharpe and Alex Wurman. Additionally, US composers Anton Sanko and Dario Forzato have signed with Air-Edel in recent weeks.
Carter’s previous experience includes overseeing music for films including “La La Land”, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I and Part II”, “Divergent” and “Insurgent” (as Head of Music at Lionsgate Entertainment) and “Argo”, “The Hangover” series, “Syriana”, and “Contagion” (as Senior Vice President, Music at Warner Bros. Pictures). As the head of Film & TV for Peermusic Publishing, Carter spent 7 years applying his experience to the selling side of the equation to provide the right music from the Peer catalogue to countless projects.
“I am delighted to welcome Carter and the Strong Music clients to the Air-Edel group, which has now been an independent company for 11 years following our management buyout. I have known Carter personally for many years and I am extremely pleased that Air-Edel and our composers, music supervisors and music editors will have the benefit of Carter heading up the work of our LA office.” – Maggie Rodford, Air-Edel Managing Director and co-owner
