Known for his strong themes and melodies, his music spans electronic and orchestral styles, with an emphasis on creating a distinct musical identity for each project.
Joris’s work on the ‘Killzone’ and ‘Horizon’ franchises helped define their distinctive musical sound, his bold orchestral scores for the former setting the benchmark for the First-Person Shooters genre, and his themes for ‘Horizon Zero Dawn’ and its heroine Aloy becoming fan favorites, contributing to one of Sony’s best-selling original soundtracks and streamed over 17 million times on Spotify. Music from the series now features in Sony’s The Concert World Tour alongside works by Bear McCreary, Gustavo Santaolalla and Ilan Eshkeri.
Beyond the ‘Horizon’ franchise, Joris has scored games such as ‘Velocity 2X’, ‘Vainglory’, ‘Catalyst Black’, and ‘Gotham Knights’ for Warner Brothers, as well as projects in film and animation including the stop motion feature ‘Chuck Steel – Night of the Trampires’, Ben Hibon’s MTV ‘Codehunters’ and contributing to Lorne Balfe and Andrew Kawczinsky’s score for ‘Gran Turismo’.
