All The Wild Horses (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

Christopher Barnett's wonderfully energetic score to the award-winning film “All the Wild Horses” by Ivo Marloh, has been released on Air-Edel Records. The soundtrack was released for the first time across all major digital streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer.

All The Wild Horses documents the Mongol Derby horse race, the longest and toughest horse race in the world, and easily the most epic and dangerous, as it leads through 650 miles of Mongolian steppe, desert and mountain ranges.

Composing the score for Ivo Marloh’s “All the Wild Horses” demanded a musical language as untamed and unpredictable as the landscapes the documentary traverses. The film’s sweeping terrain and ever-present risk that shadows each rider informed a palette built on raw textures, guttural Mongolian chants, brutal percussion, and resonant, spiritual motifs that echo both danger and awe. At the heart of the documentary, however, are the horses themselves, powerful, graceful, and deeply instinctive beings whose movements helped me shape the rhythmic pulse of the score. I sought to capture their duality, ferocity and fragility, loyalty and wildness, through my thematic material. This music reflects not only the physical journey seen on screen but also the emotional one beneath it. – Christopher Barnett
