Richard Collins
Richard is a London-based composer for film and television.

Richard most recently scored documentary feature film ’A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough’ for Netflix, produced by Silverback Films. He has also worked closely with documentary filmmaker and explorer Lucy Shepherd on her Channel 4 series ’Secret Amazon’, and most recently ’Secret Africa: Into the Wild’. Prior to this, he co-scored the Netflix series ’Heart of Invictus’ alongside Patrick Jonsson and Raphaelle Thibaut.
This continued his long-running collaboration with Patrick, which also includes additional music for Orlando von Einsiedel’s ’The Lost Children’ (2024) – winner of Best Original Composition for a Feature-Length Documentary at the Music+Sound Awards 2025 – and Amazon’s ’Wildcat’, nominated for Best Original Composition at the 44th News & Documentary Emmy Awards in 2023.
Richard has also collaborated with David Schweitzer on several projects, including Netflix’s ’The Diamond Heist’ (produced by Guy Ritchie), the Emmy-nominated series ’Bad Sport’, and BAFTA-nominated ’911: One Day in America’.
His previous work includes scoring the BAFTA long-listed short film ’Wanderland’ (dir. Nicole Pott), as well as collaborations with composer Martin Phipps on Netflix’s ’Black Earth Rising’ and ’The Crown’. He also contributed additional programming to the Sundance-premiered documentary ’The Princess’ (2022).
