Marcelo Quinonez is a dual citizen American/Canadian composer, born in Los Angeles, California. As a child, he was constantly surrounded by music from various fiestas and family gatherings held by his large Nicaraguan family.
Marcelo also studied with Flamenco guitarist Chris Carnes and was invited to Sweets Mill International Folk Music festival to accompany Chris and a variety of other Flamenco and Latin American Ensembles. All leading to his passion and talent for composing. He has composed and performed everything from Latin Alternative music to a wide range of scores for film, television, commercials and viral marketing campaigns.
He is a diverse, multifaceted artist who possesses the uncanny ability to create musical compositions that convey mood, emotion, and imagery. He has not only built and extensive library of compositions which have been licensed in numerous TV shows, but has composed scores for award winning shorts such as “Saddam 17” and “Help Wanted”. His first full length feature is creating quite a buzz and is slated for release in first quarter 2016.
