East End Film Festival

By 12th May 2017 May 11th, 2020 Representation

We are very excited that two films featuring the work of Air-Edel creative talent are being shown at the East End Film Festival.

Founded in 2000, the East End Film Festival is one of the UK’s largest film festivals attracting 30,000 audience members each year. The festival presents rich and diverse programme of international premieres, industry masterclasses, free pop-up screenings and immersive live events.

‘Butterfly Kisses‘ is the headline film at the opening night of the festival on the 29th June at the Hackney Picturehouse and recently won the Crystal Bear Award at Berlinale earlier this year. Air-Edel’s Nathan Klein composed the original score for the feature directed by Rafael Kapelinski which has been named as “One of the bravest, boldest British feature films of the past decade”. Tom Bullen recorded and mixed the score and Nick Taylor mastered the soundtrack which was released on Air-Edel Records in February.

Air-Edel’s Alexandra Harwood arranged music by Ravel for short film ’Sonny’ directed by Dominic Beeput from the Central Film School and focuses on a young boy after his best friend dies and how he is forced to confront his feelings of guilt and loneliness. The film will be shown as part of a series of shorts at the ‘Cutting East‘ event during the festival held in the Old Spitalfields Market on the 3rd June.

The festival is making use of a number of venues including the Hackney Picturehouse, Electric Cinema, Rich Mix and many more.
