At the dawn of house music and the modern club scene, he set up his own label producing underground 12-inch club records, and around this time began to make a name for himself remixing various artists’ tracks for club and radio.

His breakthrough was Right Said Fred’s international hit “I’m Too Sexy” and their debut alum “Up” which together sold over 20 million units in a year.

From there he developed a career as a studio producer and has since worked with countless big name bands and artists. He produced two number one albums for Catatonia, which were both nominated for Brit Awards and the Mercury Music Price, and he helped develop the careers of KT Tunstall and Corinne Bailey Rae, producing tracks for both of their debut number one albums.

As a producer and songwriter he has worked with Kylie Minogue, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Barry White, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Bjork, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Joss Stone.
