Los Angeles native Laura Katz is the founder of L.A.-based music supervision company Supe Troop. Previously, Katz led Cutting Edge Group’s Los Angeles office’s music supervision services for feature films, TV shows, video games, and other visual media projects. She oversaw music department services such as bespoke composition, production, clearance, licensing, soundtrack album releases, and more. Katz’s notable film credits include The Grey (music supervision), That Awkward Moment (music supervision), Stuck in Love (music supervision), Their Finest (music supervision), and Chef (music clearance and licensing). She also worked on Insomniac Games’ Xbox One game, Sunset Overdrive. Recent highlights of her films are Chappaquiddick (TIFF 2017) and Candy Jar (Netflix).
Additionally, Katz works with directors and producers to create opportunities for original songs in films. The original end title song, “It’s No Mistake,” from The Right Kind of Wrong, which she music supervised, won the Meilleure Chanson Originale (Achievement in Music – Original Song) award at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2014.
