David Julyan began writing music for short films whilst studying at University College London. It was here that David first collaborated with director Christopher Nolan and in 1998 scored Nolan's first feature 'Following'. Shot with little money on weekends over a six month period, 'Following' went on to become an unexpected Indie hit.

In 2000 David scored Nolan's cult hit 'Memento' followed by the Alaskan set police thriller Insomnia starring Al Pacino and Robin Williams.

Neil Marshall's horror film 'The Descent' gave David the opportunity to create one of his biggest works to date, with his dramatic use of orchestra and choir.   In 2006 David collaborated again with Christopher Nolan to score 'The Prestige', a story of rival magicians staring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman.

In early 2007 David scored the revenge thriller 'Outlaw' for director Nick Love. David worked again with Vertigo Films on the dark serial killer film 'W∆Z', due for release in 2008.

Although best known for his dark and atmospheric scores that blend orchestra and electronics, David has also scored films like the heart-warming Irish drama 'Inside I'm Dancing' (Working Title) and more recently the Van Gogh episode of Simon Schama's 'The Power Of Art' (BBC), both scored with a more intimate chamber ensemble.

Most recently, David scored the thriller 'Cabin in the Woods', directed by Drew Goddard and written and produced by Joss Whedon.
