Dave Punshon was born in St. Albans, Hertfordshire and studied classical piano and clarinet from the age of 10.
He started to play jazz at 17 and went on to join Bob Flag / Lena Lovich's 'Balloon and Banana Band'. He then went on to help form the rock/jazz band 'Babe Ruth' who were signed to EMI's Harvest label. Having recently reformed, Babe Ruth are about to launch a new album called ‘Que Pasa'

Dave also studied jazz keyboards / composition at Leeds, orchestration at Goldsmiths London and conducting with Laurence Leonard.

Concert Music
In 2003, whilst recording the orchestral score for 'WW2 Frontline Command in Bratislava', David was commissioned by Viennese solo flautist Karin Leitner to write the 'Starflight Concerto' which effectively launched him into the world of Concert Music.
'Starflight Concerto' for flute, harp and orchestra (3 movements). Premiere with the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nayden Todorov 13/4/07
