Andrea Boccadoro


Andrea is an award-winning composer for film, theatre and visual media. An alumnus of The Royal College of Music, Berlinale Talents and The Hospital Club Emerging Creatives Programme, he was born and raised in Rome, where he pursued both university and conservatoire studies, graduating with honours in Philosophy as well as Music Composition. In 2013 he moved to London and completed his education at the RCM with a Distinction MMus in Composition for Screen.

Andrea’s scores have been awarded internationally by film music juries and at film festivals, his themes being defined tasteful, technically effective and emotionally intense. In 2019, he received the Prix Cinézik for the original music of ‘Scaramouche Scaramouche’  (dir. Arthur Môlard) at the 20th Aubagne International Film Festival, the French film festival dedicated to celebrating film music and the director-composer collaboration. In the same year, he was also awarded the Universal Music Publishing Award at the 14th Cortinametraggio film festival, for the music of ‘L’Interprete’ by Hleb Papou. In 2015, he received a Jerry Goldsmith Award for his composition ‘Song For Adele’.

Recently, Andrea has been commissioned to compose 15 madrigals and motets for the characters of the video game ‘Astrologaster’ (Nyamyam), an astrological comedy set in Elizabethan London. The compositions have been recorded by a vocal quartet lead by soprano Emily Dickens, soon to be released by Air-Edel Records. In 2018, Andrea has been assisting Japanese Academy Award winner Gabriele Roberto on the Italian TV series ‘La Compagnia Del Cigno’, produced by Indigo Film in collaboration with Rai Fiction. In 2017, he co-wrote the title music and additional music to the feature film ‘Il Contagio – Tainted Souls’ by Matteo Botrugno and Daniele Coluccini, which premiered at the 74th Venice International Film Festival and was theatrically released in Italy.

Andrea’s work has been broadcast on RAI UNO, SKY CINEMA, CBC, and screened at international film festivals such as Venice, Clermont-Ferrand, TIFF, Austin, EIFF, Aubagne and Fantasia among others.
