Alexandra Harwood


Alexandra Harwood is a BAFTA Cymru Award-winning film composer, whose films have screened worldwide. Alexandra graduated from the Royal College of Music (Dip Mus), The Juilliard School (MMus) and the National Film and Television School (MA).

Recent work includes feature film ‘The Escape’ directed by Dominic Savage and starring Gemma Arterton and Dominic Cooper; ‘Growing Up Wild’, a feature documentary for Disney/ Netflix USA both of which were recorded and mixed in Air-Edel Recording Studios; a television series for Channel 5, ‘The Secret Life of Puppies and Kittens’; a feature documentary for Channel 4 and Animal Planet ‘Yeti or Not’?, the BBC4 documentary series ‘What a Performance-Pioneers of Popular Entertainment’; Dancing in Circles, which was awarded the BAFTA Cymru Best Short Award (2015); feature documentary ‘Bronx Lives’ (Singapore/New York Production); a ballet for Rambert Dance Company, which was premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London (2013); ‘A Celebration of Harry Potter’ for Warner Bros. Orlando USA; ‘Z1’ directed by Gabriel Gauchet which was the winner of the Best Short Film at the British Independent Film Awards 2014 and received a Locarno Award nomination in 2013; ‘Girlfriend in a Coma’, a BBC4 documentary directed by Annalisa Piras; ‘No Man’s Land’, which won Best International Documentary at the Tehran International Short Film Festival, and received an IDFA nomination and broadcast DN2 Denmark; ‘Kids Say’, an animation TV series broadcast in Hong Kong in 2014; short The ‘Substitute’ which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival 2015; ‘NightDare’ which was nominated for Royal Television Society Awards, including best Sound and Music Award in 2015.
