MARK SAYFRITZ

With an eclectic and hugely successful career as a producer, composer and programmer, Mark started scoring and sound designing for films in 2005.
His work has included 3 films for Sony Pictures SECOND IN COMMAND, UNTIL DEATH and THE SHEPHERD:BORDER PATROL, and more recently he recorded his score for UNTIL DEATH at Abbey Road studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has just completed the music for the crime thriller, DEAD MAN RUNNING.
At 17 Mark started his career at Jive Records where he soon found himself working as a programmer/producer/composer with a wide variety of pioneering artists from early Chicago and Detroit house such as Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Adonis, to the hip hop/soul legends Boogie Down Productions, Kool Mo Dee, A Tribe Called Quest and Ruby Turner. Growing uninspired by his work at Jive, he traveled the world producing and recording festivals of indigenous playing to crowds of over 220,000 people over a 4 year period. The high point was his stay in Nigeria where he had the chance to work with Fela Kuti in the Shrine.
Upon his return he toured with UK Drum & Bass pioneer Goldie as musical director and programmer, co-writing tracks on two albums including "Mother" and "Saturn's Return". He became co-writer and Producer for Ian Brown (ex-Stone Roses) co-writing tracks including 'Hear no See no Speak no' from the 2003 album 'Music of the Spheres'.
After years of pouring his heart and talent into other people's projects, Sayfritz decided it was time to make an album of his own. Writing, producing, mixing, singing and playing on the album, he gathered together local and international musicians, and asked them to join Dog Collective, to collaborate on what was to become the Heavenly / EMI album 'Neverland'. With guest appearances by legendary guitarist Pete Townshend of The Who on 'Jerusalem', Nigel Godrich of Radiohead and Beck fame, Jagz Kooner, Photek, Jake Davies, Jon Carter, Adrian Sherwood, Klute, awayTEAM and Peshay,
His unique sound has preceded him in the commercial industry following a powerful collaboration with director Nicolai Fuglsig on POSSESSED JEANS, a branded short film for Levi's from TBWA \ Chiat \ Day. Since playing eerie, driving voodoo beats to Levi's, Sayfritz has worked with Fuglsig on commercials for PlayStation and the double award winning Audi - 'Bull' (BTAA silver arrow for sound design 2003 and the D&AD silver pencil for sound design 2003) for BBH London.
Subsequently Mark has gone on to work with a number of high profile brands around the world, producing consistently great work for the likes of Audi, Mazda, Jaguar, Blockbuster (USA), M&C Saatchi, Canon, NFL/Reebok, Epson, Vodafone and Audi again, this time in France. He also had his new artist tracks featured in CSI:NY in late 2006.
