‘The Red Shoes’ Receives Olivier Award Nomination

By 8th March 2017 May 6th, 2020 Representation

We are very excited that Matthew Bourne has received an Olivier Award nomination for ‘Best Theatre Choreographer’ for ‘The Red Shoes’.

Air-Edel’s Terry Davies composed additional music and orchestrated the score for the production which opened at Sadler’s Wells in December and subsequently has sold out around the UK since.

Matthew Bourne is the artistic director and choreographer of the beloved fairytale and Academy Award-winning movie adaptation. The production is set to a new score arranged by Terry Davies using the mesmerizing music of golden-age Hollywood composer, Bernard Herrmann (most famous for his collaborations with Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles and Martin Scorsese), whose work ranges from the witty and playfully robust to the achingly romantic and bittersweet, and played live by the New Adventures Orchestra.
